Michael J. Cummings formed Motorsports Capital LLC in 2013 to fill the need for a firm dedicated to providing financial advisory services to the motorsports industry.
Michael has over a quarter of a century of experience in corporate finance in a variety of senior positions. Most recently, Michael was CFO for Port Imperial Racing Associates, the entity organizing the Formula One Grand Prix of America at Port Imperial, New Jersey.
Michael spent thirty-three years with GE and GE Capital. He was the Chief Commercial Officer for GE Capital’s Corporate Financial Services business ($80 billion in assets). In this role Michael was responsible for Sales Force Effectiveness, New Product Development and Business Intelligence. He wrote the business plan for and later founded GE Capital’s Media & Communications Group. Michael has also held the positions of SVP for GE’s Corporate Restructuring Group and General Manager of the South Region for GE Commercial Finance.
Motorsports has been an integral part of Michael’s life since early childhood when his father was Chief Engineer on one of the most dominant cars in the history of NASCAR’s Sportsman division. Michael has been a crewmember in NASCAR’s Modified series and a driver in the Sports Club Car of America.
Michael is a graduate of Middlebury College where he earned a degree in Economics and played varsity basketball. He also graduated from GE’s highly regarded Financial Management Program. Michael and his wife Kathy reside just outside of Atlanta, Georgia and have two daughters and one son.
